Lost Album “You’re The Man” From 1972 By Marvin Gaye Finally Released

“You’re the Man” is a posthumous album by Marvin Gaye that was just released on March 29th, 2019. Originally, this album was intended to follow-up Gaye’s timeless album “What’s Going On” and be released in 1972. As we pass April 2nd which would have been Gaye’s 80th birthday, we have the privilege to celebrate it with this new fantastic release.

One reason this album was never released is because of the reception of the title song. In addition to that, Gaye’s political views were very different from Motown founder Berry Gordy. So, the decision was made the cancel the release and is why it is considered a “lost” album.

On my latest Music Vibes Podcast, I was able to chat with Rock Cellar Magazine’s Jeff Slate to dig into this new record, talk about his recent interview with Gaye’s biographer David Ritz and much more. Hope you guys enjoy my recent podcast and more importantly I hope you check out and enjoy the new album.
